The words “scoliosis warrior” don’t resonate with everyone.
This quote stopped me in my tracks.
I do believe we can grow through life’s hardships, but I also think it’s important to acknowledge the cost of constantly having to adapt, cope, and push through.
Healing goes beyond the physical aspects, and includes the quieter work of feeling our emotions, honoring our limits, and giving ourselves permission to rest. And this may happen years or even decades later.
Maybe strength isn’t always about fighting.
Maybe sometimes it’s about softening, grieving, healing, and being honest about what this journey takes from us, too.
